After much consideration and deliberation I finally made a decision to use a Mac for my music.
It seemed like quite a drastic move after all the years of making music on a Pc.
But the Mac is wonderful and versatile computer for music and graphic works. I’m currently using Digital Performer Ver 3 [DP3] by MOTU(Mark Of the Unicorn) with a Korg 1212 sound card.
Now I can have the ability to record my live guitar and vocal parts into the Mac and see it running alongside my programmed sequence.
No more having the need to use another machine to record live parts and for mix downs.
Everything is incorporated into one machine. DP3 has a series of really nice plug in effects for mix downs and recordings.
It’s really about convenience as I still feel that the Roland VS 880 is a wonderful machine.
So here are some pics and descriptions of the new stuff that I’m using at home currently.

This is my 2nd hand G3. I bought it from a brother in Christ for a really good price.
And because of the new setup, I have to get a pair of monitor speakers.
So I’ve decided on a pair of Audix PH150 powered speakers as I have space constraint. Pretty good pair of speakers for it’s price.

Yes, I bought a new keyboard and this one is quite a good buy and it suit my need for the time being. It’s great for programming as it also has built in arpeggiator and filters. As for my sound modules everything is the same except for the Roland 5080. A powerful module, it has the ability to playback samples of most formats if you hook it up to a CDrom Drive. It also has 128 voices, ideal for programmers.

Here you can see that there are a couple of mixers , I got them because the way the whole thing is hooked up,
I have one mixer for my monitor and another for my Adat. Kinda complex I know...lol.
And yes I have a patching system installed, makes my work more easier! And on the right is a pic of my new PC.
And it mainly used for document work and surfing but it’s also a great game machine! LOL I know I know! I’m guilty!
I still play games even at this age! The new Pc configuration is P4 1.8Ghz/512mb Ram/ELSA GF3 T200 128MB Graphic card/SB Live sound card.

What you see on the left is a gift from the same brother who sold me the Mac G3.
This is a Digitech VTP1 Dual Vacuum Tube Preamp /EQ/Converter with S/PDIF output as well as normal analog outputs.
I would go thru this when I do any live parts especially vocals, to thicken it up a bit.
I run the Joe MeekVC3Q compressor on a effects loop within the Digitech VTP1
so that I can compress the signal if I want to and then have it being processed as a digital output to my Mac.

Well, that’s all I have to show you……and in looking back, even though the market has been pretty bad.
God has still blessed me mightily by providing all these equipments for me.
GOD of Wonders…….That HE truely is! Praise HIM Always!!
